At Prime, we are looking to take coaching to the next level. We believe in developing strong fundamental habits, patterns, and philosophies throughout the season. We emphasize the importance of having confident coaches who are able to lead and innovate, growing the next generation of Ultimate players. We are also looking for motivated individuals who are willing to invest time into building the culture and skill of their team, while also growing as a coach.
Our coaching positions are split into Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches. The descriptions of both positions are listed below. We are looking to hire 8 Head Coaches and 12 Assistant Coaches for the Summer. The teams will be split by skill (ex. Prime A, Prime B, and Prime C) and each team will have 1 Head Coach and 2 Assistant Coaches.
Teams will also be split by Touring and Regional intents, with touring teams looking to earn a spot to compete at the Canadian Ultimate Championships held in Ottawa at the end of the season.
Prior coaching experience is not required, however it will determine the role and team skill you may be coaching.
Compensation
Head Coach:
$2250 (Touring) and $1750 (Regional) for the season

Job Description
Head Coach:
Develop key team strategies and philosophies
Create practice plans with purpose-driven drills
Communicate with other Head Coaches and Prime Managers and relay information as needed
Ensure the development of each player on the team throughout the season
Act as a role model for players and exhibit good Spirit of the Game on and off the field
Create a strong team culture where players enjoy the sport of Ultimate and feel comfortable
Work with Assistant coaches in delegating coaching tasks and furthering season vision
Create a detailed season plan outlining a vision of introducing and implementing different strategies/visions
Be accountable for the development of the team and executing season vision
Plan one training camp/weekend for the team
Chaperone players at CUC
Work with Prime Managers to select two assistant coaches for the team, leading interviews as needed
Run tryout selection process
Attend coach training workshops. All coaches are expected to attend.
Assistant Coach:
Implement key team strategies and philosophies laid out by the Head Coach
Assist in developing a season plan
Ensure that drill selection is appropriate for the level
Help create a strong team culture where players enjoy the sport of Ultimate and feel comfortable
Follow instructions given by the Head Coach
Ensure the development of each player on the team
Chaperone players at CUC
Act as a role model for players and exhibit good Spirit of the Game on and off the field
Help run tryouts and roster selection
Attend coach training workshops. All coaches are expected to attend.

Tryouts: May 28, May 30, June 1
Practices: Tuesdays and Thursdays 4-6PM, Saturdays 10AM-1PM
Misfit Cup: June 22-23
BCUC: July 6-7
CUC: August 10-14

Applications are open on March 1st and will close on March 22nd. Applicants will be offered an interview based on their team preference and availability.
